This past weekend I was in the FutureShop store in downtown Montreal. I consider myself to be quite the film guy...and have many classic movies on DVD and even more, as I am sure everyone else does, on other medium such as VHS...But One particular Item caught my eye on the shelf. I relaized after looking at the back of the collectors edition box, that I have been BS'ing people my whole 44 year adult male white life about it.
I have always told people..."oh yea, I have seen that...great movie" in reference to Once Upon A Time In The West.

The fact is, that although Sergio Leone has always been my favorite person of film history...I had only realy seen 5 of the 6 Films of the 2 trilogys.

On Friday at 2 o'clock E.S.T. I purchased the film for $9.99 CAD, The Collecors Edition in Widesreen. I have a 5.1 surround system at home and Immmeediately put it on. When I finished watchiing it I put it on again. After watching the 2nd time, and discovering a lot more stuff, I put it on again....you get the idea, It's Monday, I have taken the day off, I am cracking open a Beer, rollin up a funny cigarette, and Im gonna watch it for the 7th time since Friday in 1 minute.

Before I did I went on the NET and looked for this place.
I just wanted to come in here and say to anyone who give's a rat's ass, that in my opinion...

ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST...

is the Single Greatest Movie Ever Made By Anyone !!!

And...

Thanks Sergio !!! Watching this movie in the way you intended me to has made me feel I was Part Of Something Very Special

Welcome to the boards.

Once Upon a Time in the West, or OUATITW as we put it here, is my favorite film too. It's what got me into film and westerns in the first place. And I completely agree that Sergio Leone is the best director.

Welcome Thurgood. Remember, you will get out as much as what you put into this unique board...glad to have a fresh point of view. Sounds like you have a severe case of S.L. fever. Be forewarned, however, there is no cure for this insidious disease and the disease could very well progress to its severest form and you may eventually become an M.F.'r*! :o
