Tickets?

Does anyone have an idea how much did train tickets cost in those times? I'm interested in it because of the opening sequence, where the ticket seller tries to sell tickets to the three Frank's men.
And where did he think they were going? Was there a constant price for tickets anywhere? I don't think so. Then how did he know how much does it cost?

The station maanager in the beginning says " That'll be 7 dollars. And 50 cents. "

Back then, a train ticket would probably cost about that much. It also depends on the distance between that station and your destination.

He doesn't, but they make him nervous so he's probably just trying to deal with them as quickly as possible. Maybe 7.50 is the minimum charge; if they need to pay more they can do so enroute or at the other end.

Here as well. Some stations even don't sell tickets, so you have to buy them in train.

Well, I think Dave's right. It's what I like on this board: on my own I would wonder about it and wonder and wonder and it would disturb me instead of enjoying the film.
