You can buy the German box set (which includes FAFDM) or settle for the UK dvd which has the scene in the special features.

Or you could wait for the American releases of the special editions (though I wouldn't hold my breath).

What are you guys talking about? FOD opens with a shot that pans up from the ground to reveal Clint on a horse riding up to a well at the edge of town.

There is the ABC prologue that was shot for the American broadcast premier of the film, and it begins with "Clint" in a cell, but it doesn't have him opening his eyes. What is it, again, you're referring to?

I was just telling the OP where to find the ABC intro. When he said "Clint" I took it as the character not the actor.

That prologue was aired in the 70's it's a good chance he hasn't seen it since then. Also Gentlementraitor is from Turkey so maybe he mistranslated the information.

I saw it about 6 months ago and I can hardly recall anything of it except that the character doesn't say a word and is shot from behind.

And they splice in a couple of close-ups of the real Clint, done very poorly.  ABC was trying to provide a politically correct reason for him to clean up the town, like a government "good deed", instead of mostly personal greed.

Hi guys,

I'm a long time Leone fan, been lurking here for a while, decided to join.

It's funny, but I'm 100% sure that John Carpenter saw the original airing with this prologue added, and created the next year the screenplay for what was to become ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, starring Kurt Russel, with the very same basic premise (ie convict felon is given pardon if he accomplishes his mission).

Everyone knows Carpenter is a western adict, and that all his movies are westerns in modern settings. Makes sense.

Just remember its not a cut scene it was never ever in the theatrical release, it was basically ABC BS propaganda.
