Any fans, man? I love me some John Lee Hooker. His guitar sound is so stripped down and raw, and the way he chants over it, it's just astounding.  The very first recording he made, "Boogie Chillen" has got to be one of (if not, THE) best i've ever heard. Honestly, it's like one guy channeling everything the blues is about into one song.  The fact that it's just him, his guitar, and his tapping foot keeping the beat makes it even better. I Also like the Chicago Blues, like Buddy Guy and Muddy Waters.  B.B. King deserves a shoutout (of course).  And also, Blind Willie Johnson has got to be the best "slide" guitar player I've heard, and those 32 or whatever recordings that Robert Johnson did... wow. Just wow.

Any other takers?

Nice, I love Johnson and The Allman Brothers.

Right now I'm blasting my favorite West Coast bluesman, Pee Wee Crayton, while I reflect upon "If You Meet Sartana, Pray for Your Death."

I do.  One of my favorite movies.

And the scene that came to mind from Silenzio's OP was the scene in Planes, Trains and Automobiles where John Candy is singing, I don't know if you'd qualify it as a blues song, and gets his coat caught on the chair latches so he's not able to drive.  Too funny. ;D

I have a couple of his albums.

He had a monstrous and unique tone, that's for sure.

I got to played the new reproduction of his guitar that is supposedly an "exact replica" and it was awesome.

That clips taken from the best guitar video i have "Stevie Ray Vaughan Live at The El Moncombo".
Surely he was the white equivalent of the best blues guitarist that ever lived and i can't think of any white guy to match SRV's showmanship and charisma though saying that i saw this guy in London round about the time of this video:-

Guess i'd better stick to plucking my banjo then! ;D

Never seen Jeff Healey then?

That guy is awesome especially when (remember he's blind) he'll suddenly spring outa his seat onto his feet and the bass player has to lean on him to prevent him tumbling off stage. :)

Ok, I thought I knew things, but why have I not heard of Jeff Healey.  The video I was watching was already blowing my shit away, and then when I heard he was blind.... dang.

Not to mention the way he plays the fretboard like a piano keyboard. O0

I've just found a video of a well known English band that does several Hendrix covers and the lead guitarist Snails Pace Slim is meant to be particularly charismatic.I have an album called Electric Hamsterland but have never seen them live.
