The over-sized stage coach when the snotty passengers were belittling Rod Steiger. And Coburn aimlessly wandering the desert exploding mountains. Found that rather surreal.

To make this game more interesting, each new player should make certain that his/her list does not contain any of the films already listed. Here's my play:

Au Hasard, Balthazar
Badlands
Coup de Torchon
David Holzman’s Diary
L’Eclisse
Far From the Madding Crowd
Il Gattopardo
Hud
In the Mood for Love
Journal d’un cure de campagne
Kind Hearts and Coronets
The Long Goodbye
Madame de……
Nights of Cabiria
Out of the Past
Providence
Quai des Orfevres
Rear Window
Sansho Dayu
Two Lane Blacktop
Umberto D
Vivre sa vie
Wise Blood
X (the final film of the Dekalog)
Yama no oto (Sound of the Mountain)
Zentropa

Jill--to better distinguish between Herzog's Nosferatu and Murnau's, you can give the complete title of the former: Nosferatu, Phantom der Nacht.

Some of these might not be my first choice, but they would have been mentioned several times by now.

A - All the President's Men
B - Bridge on the River Kwai
C - Casino
D - Doctor Zhivago
E - The English Patient
F - For a Few Dollars More
G - The Godfather, Part II
H -
I - Invasion of the Body Snatchers
J - Jaws
K -
L - The Lion King
M - A Man for All Seasons (many great films with "Man" in the title)
N -
O - Once Upon a Time in the West
P - A Passage to India
Q - The Queen
R - Rent
S - Sunset Blvd.
T - Terminator 2: Judgment Day
U - The Untouchables
V - Venus
W - The Wind and the Lion
X - The X-Files Movie (not that great, but in lieu of anything else. . .)
Y - Young Frankenstein
Z - Zulu

Dammit, that's all I can think of for now. . .

However, even harder than listing great movies...

List movies YOU OWN for each letter of the alphabet.  With letters such as X or Q, if you don't own one, list one whose title starts with the letter that comes before that.

Example...

P - choose two movies for P
Q - if don't have a movie for Q
R
S

As you may know (since i told you it something like 458 times), I'm at work, and it's quite boring. So I'm loghgind and unlogging myself the whole day, and while calling these ******* firms that never answer, I'm thinking to it :)
What's is strange is that for "U", "M", "O" and some other letters, I have at least 2 or 3 movies and it's hard to pick up just one... and for other letters, impossible to think to a MUST SEE movie.

Yeah i know what you mean.  I had a hard time choosing between Breathless, Band a Parte, Belle de Jour, and others.  With P i had trouble choosing between The Piano, Platoon, Pulp Fiction.. etc.
And the Hardest was maybe S, Saving Private Ryan, Singin' in the Rain, Sanjuro, The Seventh Samurai..

And... with Q, Quills was the only title i could think of... not that it's bad, it's just not a "must-see" compared to the others.
