AngelEyes, NOOOO!

Anyone seen this yet?  This is the one written and directed by Sophia Coppola.

First off, I despised her in Godfather III, so I went to this movie with a chip on my shoulder.  But I love Bill Murray, so in balance I was kind of neutral on expectactions going in.

But I really enjoyed this film.  Beautifullly shot, intelligent, very well paced.  One of the best films I've seen recently.  Since everyone on this site appreciates the artistry of Leone, thought you might want a heads up on a very well-crafted work.  A day later it's stilll haunting me, which doesn't happen with many films nowadays.

Its a meditation on the innate loneliness of the human condition, and the need to connect.  If you look at Sergio's films, thats also a profound  underlying theme of his.  Tuco, Blondie, Angel Eyes, Harmonica, Frank, Noodles - these characters are  lost souls prowling the wasteland, and the only thing that drives them is greed or revenge.  But in their own perverse and twisted way, they still need each other.

And what if your hand should shake a little?  And that Gringo so fast on the draw.

I saw it too, thought it was very well done.
