Anyone know if the silver rattlesnake was on both sides of Joe's/Manco's/Blondie's gun grips, or just the one side?

I would say both but not sure.

I am nearly certain they're on both sides.

I saw the set-up at the Leone exhibit in 2005 and seem to remember rattlesnake on both sides.  Don't worry - someone here will be able to do a screen capture and post.

Every closeup grip shot that I can see with the gun is from the right side, whether he's loading (FOD), cleaning (GBU), or holstered (All).  Anyone out there spot a frame where the gun grip is visible from the left side?

There is a Rawhide episode that features them also.

Check out the Autry Museum show also they were on display there, and if they dtill have the photos up it may show the other side.

Yes, it's the "Incident at Alabaster Plain" and can be seen on the first disc of the first season.

OK, caught 5 minutes of GBU (restored, not letterbox) on Encore Westerns last night.  I wasn't paying attention, and don't have time to check the DVD, but it looked like when Blondie handed over his pistol to Tuco after the Shorty Larson scene that the pistol had the rattlesnake grip, but I didn't think about this until later.  I think the pistol Angel Eyes gives Blondie at Betterville prison has rattlesnake grips.  Did they use the same pistols for these scenes?

I know he has the pistol with the grips when he's cleaning it in the hotel.
