O mio Signore - Edoardo Vianello (1964)

http://it.youtube.com/watch?v=bhl7Ifa56Qo

I posted this in my Morricone arrangements topic and it has stuck in my mind again (it has come and gone in the last 30 years). But really this is one of the best, most intense songs produced in the '60's: sung perfectley, great, simple lyrics by the unique Mogol to a simple but effective tune composed by the singer; and sublime (can't find another word!) arrangement by the Maestro, with that trumpet glissando  that you wait for each time you hear the song.  And, last but not least, the cover of the single.

I like this band a lot but I mostly dislike the "true" fans. People, wake up, not every fucking song contain a mathematical formula, a reference to some prophecy or any kind of hidden message! I'm not saying songs can't have content or substance to them but Jesus Christ!

I giardini di Marzo - Lucio Battisti

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XpmhG1lyDGw

Battisti and his main lyricist Mogol find in Lennon-MacCartney  the only valis term of comparison for both magnitude and quality of their output.

I made the mistake of going through the thread about Morricone's favoritie arrangements, so now I can't get rid of "Se telefonando" .
