FFDM is one of my favorite movie, I like leone's style in this movie. This time I want to start new topic about cockroachs, I found 3 of them. One is indio's friend's face(jail scene) another one almost at the end of the movie (killed by indio on the table after some torture) and the last one is not actual cockroach but the action and movement just like it.
The scene where Manco plays poker game with 'Baby' Red Cavanaugh , this guy before get killed by monco he moves on the ground just like a cockroach!!!
what do you think about it:)

I think if you broadened it to insects, you might have something here. The bug Indio kills is a beetle of some sort, and I think Sancho's insect was just a large fly. However, there's also the dialogue about the other hotel, where Manco would have to spend the whole night shooting cockroaches.

Probably just a parallel to Indio's gang of "vermin". I'm too mentally tired to read much more into it. Frayling equates Indio's bug as being his gang, slowly destroyed by his madness, hubris and fatalism. I don't remember if it was STDWD or Spaghetti Westerns, though.

The first thing that came to mind was Jack Elam in the opening of OUATITW with the fly.  I've always looked at this sort of thing as Leone presenting a more realistic Old West than say the average John Wayne western.  The west was a dirty, stinky, nasty place and I'm guessing there was an overabundance of insects around whether it be cockroaches, beetles, or flies. :)

Insects are usually present when something bad is about to happen or when something bad is happening to someone in Leone's films.
