Million Dollar Baby - 7.5 /10
Good first part, melo second one (not as long as I remembered, which is good). Great acting from everyone, and probably the best cinematography in a Clint Eastwood movie (only Mystic River egals it). Tom Stern as a DP probably upgrades Clint's films a lot. Good music, one of the best writen by Clint too. The movie is touching, and they provided nice efforts in production value (often lacking in Eastwood's intimist movies). Great atmosphere at least during the first hour. The biggest flaw being that everything is too much. Good guys are too good, bad ones are too bad, weak ones are too weak....... Anyway,to sum it up: a good Clint.

Are you on a roll or what?

Hombre - 9/10 - For some reason I was expecting a message film about mistreatment of Native Americans, something I'm not really in the mood for. Fortunately I was wrong. This is a great plot-driven Western, with shades of Anthony Mann. It has a few flaws (a bit talky, some superfluous characters) that are balanced out by interesting thematic material, excellent location shooting and a great pace. Newman is excellent, and Richard Boone is one of the all-time great Western bad guys.

Yup, Hombre is good. I like Cameron Mitchell in this a lot, too. Also, the ending is really solid.

Alice's Restaurant (1969) - 6/10
Some interesting points about the hippie culture, but overall just so so. One funny thing: it was OK for hippies in 1969 to throw half a ton of garbage on the side of a road?

Posse (1975) - 8-ish/10 - The first forty minutes is great: excellent build-up, two great shootouts. The middle section in the town drags and sags. I'm still undecided on how I feel about the last third. Kirk Douglas is pretty good in his triple-role (actor, director, producer) but Bruce Dern completely steals the movie.

Coline (2010): 2/10
The only interesting thing with this movie is the production/distribution part: the movie is auto-produced by young guys with low to no experience and released for free on the web (homepage of Dailymotion for instance). It shows that nowadays you can do a feature movie with nothing but will.

Macadam Cowboy: 8/10
First viewing in years. Not the classic I thought, but still a very good movie. Schlessinger's editing and cinematography experiments are now a bit aged but as a whole it works. Hoffman does a lot for the movie.

Sorry??

I meant I'm starting to agree with your reviews, and you're getting funnier every day.

There's really no need for you to go fishing for compliments like this. I'm sure you understood very well what I meant.

The party scene is insipid. And this is particularly damning when you recollect there's an equally bad party scene in Darling.

The film impressed me when I was 17, but now I consign it to that limbo in which Catcher in the Rye and A Separate Peace and Of Mice and Men and other such works float about. I shall never watch it again.

Yeah. But porobably it's the only scene that doesn't work. And let's not forget the soundtrack.

I never liked Rye, had great discussions about it. What people find in it is beyond me.

Date Night (2010) Wife drug me to this basically, it was actually funny enough to entertain me for a few hours, more than I though it would be from its promo's. 7/10

High Fidelity (2000) - (around) 6.5/10

It has some points.
