Haven't been on in a while, but here I am.I haven't been watching movies consistently lately, but I did see most of Pollock on TV. I thought Ed Harris did an admirable acting job, and the film was really well done, but unfortunately I still don't see the value in Pollock's art. Still, I'd watch it a second time, but not anytime soon.
As Tears Go By (1988) - 7.5/10SPOILERMy DVR fucked up once again and stopped recording when the protagonist is lying on the ground and has just been shot in the head. Does it end there? I watched an "alternative" ending on Youtube but what's the official ending?
The Sandlot - 7/10 - I hadn't seen this since I was a kid, when I watched it every other week (or so it seemed). It instills the same feeling of nostalgia and affection that Stand By Me seems to for a lot of people - not that I can relate 100% to the characters and events (though our neighborhood did play a lot of pick-up baseball games back in the day), but that it does a near-perfect job of representing childhood. Lots of silly, innocent fun, and I was pleasantly surprised that I still enjoy it.
Dirty Harry 9/10 That's mostly based on my enjoyment of the film
I liked Dirty Harry a lot although it's dated and the message is somewhat questionable. Haven't bothered with the sequels.
Germany: Year Zero - 8/10 - Very good, but God how depressing.
