Possibly we do and I confused him for someone else. If that's the case, though, it says a lot about his "importance" to the movie.
Knife in the Water (1962) - 8/10. A couple pick up a hitchhiker and take him sailing with them. From this simple Hemingwayesque situation emerges . . . what, a political parable, existentialist statement, or merely an exploration of the dynamics between people in a confined space?
Capote (2007)The Cowboys (1972)
Le notti bianche (1957) Nice little film by Luchino Visconti 8/10
Then where are the thrills?
In Cold Blood - 9/10 - Almost perfect adaptation of Truman Capote's book. Pretty much everything clicks: fine performances, excellent editing, striking cinematography, a wonderful score. The only problem is the moralizing about capital punishment towards the end, but I can accept that all things considered.
