I really like this one. I'd even bump it up to a generous 8. We need more dramas with really short run times, that aren't running for Oscars, and that have really tacky & abrupt endings that make me smile.

My girlfriend and I were sure we were gonna have a boring applause ending, and NO, they finished the film right where they had to. Good job Clinton Jr.

Dragged Across Concrete 7.5/10
Nice little neo noir that came to Amazon Prime Video way sooner than I expected. It will probably soon be considered as 2019's Payback.
I have some problems with it but it's mostly very good: good performance (lots of well used known faces), great editing/camerawork (especially the very special pacing of action scenes: they sometimes go lightning fast in a single wide shot, and sometimes drag for long minutes in what looks more like WW1 than D-Day, if you see what I mean), very good atmosphere, simple and efficient plot that's just smart enough to reinvent classic scenes/plot points and yet gives the audience the simple pleasure of a good, old school genre scene... and cool sounding dialogues (despite a tendency to be too self expainatory).
It made me want to revisit Bone Tomahawk one of these days.

Sully 6.5/10
Hey, that was actually more than ok ! If one forgets the terrible CGI plane of course.

it's a crappy movie. maybe I give it a similar rating - cuz I consider 6.5 to be a crappy rating ;-)

the plane incident itself is good. The stuff afterward is stupid. Again, Eastwood takes a real-life story which is good for a 45-minute piece and stretches it to feature length, which makes it crappy.

are you bonkers? any other director would have made this a 2.5 hour biopic. Thank god for Eastwood who had the gaul to make a 90-minute drama.

Yeah it?s good. It isn?t great, but it?s good. What isn?t the plane crash is still good. If you were the true libertarian you say you are you would be in love with those scenes.

This should have been a 30-45 minute piece. Just like The Mule and The 15:10 to Paris.

Play It as It Lays (1972) - Flawed, but an incredibly interesting European inspired New Hollywood flick detailing the mental breakdown of a B actress with an excellent performance from future Leone alum Tuesday Weld. It's very of its time with its New Wavey abrupt cut storytelling that frantically weaves in and out scenes - but this technique is mostly done pretty well and it lacks the hipster nihilism or hubris that usually turns me off from this type of movie. The style also fits the character. It could have been a masterpiece of sorts had it spent more time with Anthony Perkins' character and had the second half of the movie been better paced. At worst, it's a uniquely interesting movie that probably influenced Tarantino to some degree when writing 'Hollywood'. He may have said so himself if I remember correctly. B-

Titoli posted the vid I watched.

It's not exactly ideal but that's the best that's out there I believe.

15:10 to Paris should have been 0 minutes.

It would have been good as a short documentary.

Cronenberg time!

Eastern Promises 8/10
First viewing in a decade? What should have been a promising yet rather deceptive 6/10 is bumped to a 8/10 thanks to that scene with Aragorn fighting butt naked. Also I like the way it ends.

Dead Ringers 4/10
It doesn't work for many reasons, but it still has that sick Cronenberg magic touch that keeps you on the edge all along. It also has the other Cronenberg magic touch: the infamous "there is such in great movie somewhere in it but let's NOT look for it, and instead, here is a corny mess".

Fag.

The movie is a 9/10, regardless of that scene.
