are no longer with us?  I've always pondered this.  I checked the IMBD site, but unless I'm missing something, I didn't get much info from there.   Of course, not many actors in the movie (i.e. Mario Brega) outside of LVC, Clint and Eli are well-known here in the US, but still great actors nonetheless.  Leone couldn't have chosen anyone better to play the other roles (Wallace, Mulloch, the wounded captain at Branson Bridge, etc.)  Just wondering how many have left us since the movie was made.   I don't mean to sound morbid or anything of the sort - just asking out of curiosity.  Thanks in advance!

Many of them were not well-know, and no known bio exists. However, if you click in the Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo list of actors in the IMDB, you will see that many of them have already passed away :(. Which is not surprising, considering that the movie was made in 1966 and many of the actors were in their 40s or older at the time.

This may be a bit off topic, but I think it is worth mentioning.

Luigi Pistilli (Father Ramírez) commited suicide (21 April 1996).

Al Mullock commited suicide in 1968.

Frank Wolff (Sheriff Burnett in THe Great Silence) commited suicide in 1971.

Peter Lee Lawrence commited suicide in 1974.

I don't know what the "normal" suicide rate is amongst the general population or in other movie genres, but it seems to me that the suicide rate amongst spaghetti-western actors was quite high.  :-\

Yup, he played the role of Brett McBain. I was going to correct my post, but your draw was faster than mine.  :D

OMG - I'm shocked to hear about Luigi Pistilli - wow!  I never knew!    :'(   He was a excellent actor and played the role of Father Ramirez extremely well - couldn't have been a better actor for that role.  That's quite a shock to hear, but thank you for sharing that bit of info.

I'm also sad, knowing Brega and some of the others are gone now - such a shame!   GBU had a GREAT cast of actors and Leone did a superb job at choosing the actors!

He's well enough to still be cheating his remaining colleagues out of money, yes.
Out of all the spaghetti western actors/directors I've spoken to... it was only Parolini who had nothing bad to say about him.
Probably because I don't recall him ever working with Aldo before.

I was answering Bandolero's observation about suicide's rates among SW actors. And I forgot Camaso.

They are all alive in our hearts.

Call me ol' fashion if you wish, but I don't think that today's entertainment can match what we had in the 60s and 70s.

Does anyone know if Aldo Guiffre is still with us?  I think I spelled his last name correctly, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.  He played the drunk captain in GBU - not sure if he's still living.   If anyone knows, I'd be grateful to you for the info.   He is (or was) a great actor and I loved his performance in GBU - did a superb job at that role, as ALL the actors in that movie did with their roles!

Thanks in advance.
