The Maestro dedicated this article to the black singer: "A Giant of Contemporary Art". He did the same for Lucio Battisti about a decade ago.

http://www.ilmessaggero.it/articolo_app.php?id=19384&sez=HOME_SPETTACOLO&npl=&desc_sez=

He says that it was Leone (who was a Jackson's fan) who introduced him to Jackson's music and taught him how to appreciate him. The music wonderfully arranged by QJ (of course) got under his skin. An heir of Jackson is maybe Madonna. Jackson's main contribution to modern art is in the musical video: Thriller is  an absolute masterpiece.

I don't know if Riccardo Muti is as sincere in his appreciation of MJ when he compares him to the famous castrati singers:

http://operachic.typepad.com/opera_chic/2009/06/riccardo-muti-remembers-michael-jackson.html

He says he saw some of his shows but musically doesn't seem to rank him at all.

They seem to agree Michael Jackson was really more of a showman than a singer, which isn't a bad thing at all.

Anyone care to translate? I'm a bit confused on what Morricone thought of the man and his music. Leone seemed pretty open-minded about it.

Directed by that great SW stuntman John Landis.

Use Yahoo's Babel Fish, select: Italian > English.

It's not flawless; among other mistakes it will translate Sergio Leone as Sergio (the) Lion, but you'll understand the general meaning (if you have an IQ higher than the temperature of the room you're in).

Which is not even the case of Dust Devil, and he still understood the article.
You shouldn't have any problem.

Because I read the original article, in Italian, dumbo.

But nevertheless, thanks for trying to be smart and funny at the same time, yet again. As usual; you failed, but you made us laugh all the same, though in that other way.

Having seen him in concert, I agree with that statement.

"Murderer" is taking things a but far but his irresponsibility and carelessness ended three lives.
