The word END to the "Spaghetti Western"

The critics, in italy (i think all over europe), agree in saying that this film put the word END to the "Spaghetti Western" genre according to the style of Sergio Leone:

Hungarian: Az ördög jobb és bal keze
French: On l'appelle Trinita
Danish: De kalder mig Trinity
Finnish: Trinity...paholaisen oikea käsi
Spanish: Me Llamaban Trinidad (Trinity)
Swedish: De kallar mig Trinity - djävulens högra hand

Are the critics  of the same opinion also in the rest of the world?

Biondo, I think low budget ripoffs of the genre killed them off. Flood the market with anything and you dilute the whole. Parodies if done well are ok, exploitation films of a popular genre are probably unavoidable.

In the US, the Spaghetti Western Genre unfortunately was never taken seriously by critics in the 1960's -70's, so its a moot point.

Italian movies that were taken seriously in the US were directed by Fellini, Antonioni, Pontecorvo, De Sica, Bertolucci, and Wertmuller.

The western spaghetti will never die...
As if there are not spaghetti westerns now, it will always be present !!!
We must hope...
Maybe in 5, 10, 20 years, a new director will shot western spaghetti and the genre will be back.
